We needed an abstract name that did not exist online but had meaningful roots. As much as possible, it had to relate to the moments in which our customers need us the most, times of change, of growth, of new beginnings…

The name “íncipy” suggests something new, something starting up, something “incipient”. We were inspired by the Latin word “Incipit”, which has a very suggestive meaning:
In Social Criticism, incipit is the beginning of the story, considered an area of text in which the narrative and the ideological scheme are being assembled. Claude Duchet has pointed out that incipit is the strategic place where the meaning is concentrated since, it is the beginning of the text in which a series of codes to aid reading are arranged.
The strength comes from the tension between what it is said and what can potentially be said. In other words, the incipit foreshadows the novel and therefore, contains all the material determining the scope, reading and direction of the text”.For Duchet, the incipit is determined by the following aspects:
- A narrative, a theme and the semantics of the text..
- A series of mechanisms that structure the “staging”. This opening rhetoric, as it has been called, seeks to answer the basic questions of the text: who, where and when.
- A reference to the title.
In words of María Amoretti: “the incipit lays the footprints for a body of text espousing an ideology and, being where the word begins, it lays out its suppositions and jurisdiction.”
